Under no circumstances will we adopt rats to a minor under the age of 18 without full consent from a parent or guardian. If the minor fails to provide care for the rodent, such responsibility shall fall upon the parent or guardian.

Rats that leave our establishment will be no less than 6 weeks of age, NO exceptions what so ever!

Rats are sold strictly on a pet only contract. Any breeding against this contract will result in repossession of said rat and legal repercussions will be taken for breach of contract.

A 50% deposit via cash or check will be required to reserve babies or hold rats that cannot be picked up immediately. Adoption fees must be paid in full in cash at pickup or prior to pickup by cash or check. Adopters will be made aware of the adoption price of the rat(s) prior to adoption.

Adopters who already own rats MUST be able to provide an appropriate quarantine for new rats.

Shipping via United PetSafe can be arranged as needed, otherwise all other adoptions must be handled in person. If shipping is the way we are going, all expenses must be covered by the adopter.

Please bring a carrier to bring your new pet rat(s) home in as we do not provide them.

It is the adopters responsibility to provide ALL of the rat(s) needs once it leaves the rattery. This includes, but is not limited to; suitable, safe clean housing, appropriate food made for rats and to meet a rats nutritional needs, fresh water, and medical care when needed.

If the adopter needs to return the rat(s) for any reason, it is the responsibility of the owner to arrange transportation back to the rattery.

If the adopter finds they can no longer care for their rat(s) EPR must be given the opportunity to reclaim them, and in this instance, transportation will be arranged with the adopter

EPR does not take in rescues of any kind, please contact your local ASPCA. This is to protect the health of our resident rats.

All rats are adopted under a no breeding contract unless given explicit permission from owners and breeders of EPR.

EPR is entitled to alter or modify this policy at any time.

EPR owners and breeders have the exclusive right to refuse the adoption of a rat (or rats) at our discretion. We are not obligated to give a reason for refusal.

By adopting a rat(s) from Eliza Pearl Rattery you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of the adoption policies stated above.
If you do not agree to the above conditions you will NOT be allowed to adopt from Eliza Pearl Rattery.
We put a lot of time and effort into our rattery. Because we care about our animals, we want to ensure that our rats live the best lives possible and that they go to great forever homes. We want them to be healthy, happy, and well tempered; for both their safety and yours. In order to ensure that our rats are going to the best homes possible, we have steps that must be taken to adopt rats from us. We have an adoption application you must fill out before being able to adopt a new pet. After you send in the application, we will get back to you through text(SMS) if you are eligible. If you cannot reach us through text(SMS) please message us on our Facebook page and we will send you our questions. If you do not pass the application, do not fret! We can chat and see if there were any misunderstandings. If you pass the application process, we move on to the next step: "Picking Your Rat(s)" found to the left, listed as number 1. We have a strict contact that all adopters must read, agree to, and sign at pick up. You may ask for a preview of the contract before hand.
