About Us
My name is Graci Judd.
EPR was first established in December of 2014.
Eliza Pearl Rattery is a NARR registered, home-based breeder of quality pet rats with genetic health, temperament and longevity being our first priority. We are located in Roy, Utah, but we do ship/deliver at cost. Our rats are not just breeders, they are our pets, and we want what is best for them. Our rats main diet consists of the high quality food called Mazuri 6f, along with a mix of IFA Rat Breeder, Pride Cattle Cubes and Doggy Bag. We often give fruits, veggies and eggs as well as a sweet treat. If you are wanting a rat from us, we highly encourage you get put on our wait-list. Those on our wait-list get first pick after we choose our hold backs. After they have chosen their babies, any babies left will be posted on our page and website. In order to get on our wait-list please fill out our adoption application, which you can find in the "Adoption Process" section on our website. If you see a rat for adoption we recommend asking about him/her and reserving as we cannot guarantee that there will ever be another like it. We breed for our own personal goals. Please visit the "Our Rats" section to take a look at our current rats/breeders as well as our current/past litters. Last of all, thank you for your interest in Eliza Pearl Rattery! We very much appreciate it!

How we got started!
My love of rats started when I was 7 and got my first pair of girls. We had many adventures and ended up adding an older female, making a trio. We did the "Ratty Olympics", took them every where, played outside, made toys, got baths, and so much more. I had Miley my fawn hooded top ear, Ame(short for America, as this was my 'brothers' rat and he named her), who was a black hooded top ear, and the female we added later on, Missy, an agouti rex berkshire dumbo. Miley and Ame were two of the best rats and they put up with everything we ever did. Missy was less desirable, and had bitten me a few times, she could be sweet every so often.

Fast-forward
After my first trio passed of old age, I had not gotten any new rats. When I turned 11 I got another pair of females! This time we had a Double Critter Nation cage. My mother had decided the cage we had was too big for only 2 rats, and allowed me to get 2 more females! I had 2 sisters, a fawn hooded top ear named Harper, a fawn berkshire top ear named Paris, a black variegated top ear named Zoey, and an albine/PEW top ear named Noelle. All my females I had gotten were from pet stores. Noelle developed a large, internal tumor a few months after I got her, and she passed the day before Christmas Eve. At this time we had decided I could get one more female, or get to males. I did not want to breed, and never though I would at the time, but I had been learning from groups about proper breeding. I wanted males because I had learned they usually have different temperaments and personalities, which is definitely true for the most part.

I got 2 males, a black mismarked hooded top ear named Blu, and an agouti hooded top ear named Teo. Blue very quickly stole my heart, and became my heart rat. I took him everywhere, outside restaurants, clothes stores, absolutely everywhere. Throughout the next months I learned more and more about breeder, about being ethical, responsible, and proper. I decided I thought the experience of a litter would be great. I got a mentor, and my mother agreed as long as I had homes lined up before hand. I then paired Paris and Blu, and had our very first litter. From there everything spiraled and I fell in love with breeding. I wanted to breed rats to be better all way around! The months and years to come I would work hard to become more knowledgeable, by learning better housing, about temperament testing, health, genetics, varieties, and so much more.
About me
My name is Graci Judd, I am the founder of EPR.
I have always had a huge love for animals, ever since can remember. I have owned, so far, Great Danes, a Miniature Schnauzer, a Basenji, a Blue-Heeler/Lab mix rescue, a Cockatiel, 3 cats, several Chinchillas, several Ferrets, 3 bunnies, a Scarlet Macaw, and rats of course!

I have always been the type of person who wants to learn everything possible about an animal before getting one, and want to do everything right. I got my first cat at 5, my first dog at 6, my first rats at 7, and so on. Before we moved into a rental in August 2017 I had most the animals listed, but I had to downsize extremely. I kept my rats and 2 Great Danes. After moving into our rental we discovered they would allow a parrot, I did my research, saved up for months, and got Mila Mae, a Scarlet Macaw baby, who hatched May 15, 2017! I have 2 Great Danes, as mentioned. Mishka, my 4 year old Double Merle, born Feb. 11, 2014. Sadly, Mishka suffers from many, many healthy issues, this is due to being from a terribly backyard breeder. My second Dane is Malykai, my 2 year old fawn, born March 31, 2016. The most recently added member to the family is a Flemish Giant Rabbit named Ruebyn, who is 3 months old as of April 2018.

I had always wanted to ride horses, I can't remember a time I didnt. I started riding english when I was 10. I ended up leasing a horse, and showing up to 2ft. I will always love riding horses. At the moment I do not ride or lease, but I hope to as soon as possible!

I also love photography, editing pictures, drawing, coloring, etc.
